Project Overview:
The Big Data & Analytics in Higher Education infographic was designed to address the challenge of conveying complex information in a digestible, engaging, and visually appealing format. Traditional methods of presenting data—such as lengthy reports and dense academic papers—often failed to engage the audience. As a solution, I leveraged my instructional design expertise and graphic design skills to create a clean, modern, and impactful infographic.
The goal was to inform university administrators, faculty, and decision-makers about the value of big data for improving institutional decision-making, resource management, and student success outcomes. By blending data visualization and concise messaging, the infographic delivered key information in a format that is both aesthetic and effective.
Challenge/Problem:
Higher education institutions are increasingly relying on big data to make strategic decisions. However, stakeholders often struggle to:
- Understand the practical benefits of big data and analytics for their institutions.
- Navigate through lengthy, text-heavy reports or technical papers.
- See the connection between data analysis, decision-making, and institutional goals.
The problem was clear: a more concise, engaging, and visually intuitive solution was needed to communicate these complex ideas effectively.

As an instructional designer, I applied graphic design principles and instructional strategies to create an infographic that simplified the topic of big data in higher education. Key steps included:
